Brsk commences rollout of Next Generation, Gigabit, full-fibre broadband to 50,000 homes in Burnley & Padiham
[19/10/2021] Lancashire - New broadband provider brsk (pronounced brisk) has announced that their rollout of gigabit-capable full-fibre broadband services has started in Burnley & Padiham, delivering ultrafast speeds to the community. Brsk expects its first services to go live in Burnley towards the end of this year.
Unlike fixed wireless broadband providers, brsk’s full fibre technology is reliable and consistent in any weather, and user download speeds remain guaranteed - no matter how many people join the network. This is because full fibre means a fibre cable is installed directly into the home.
Rated* ‘excellent’* on Trustpilot, brsk’s first customers are already enjoying the benefits of full fibre broadband to their homes in Bingley. This full fibre technology will allow customers on their network to stream 4k media (and soon 8k) across multiple devices at the same time, while members of the same household can browse, take video calls and play games without impacting anyone else’s online experience, so everyone can enjoy their online time, at the same time.
Brsk says the rollout will deliver full-fibre broadband to over 50,000 homes and businesses covering all of Burnley and Padiham.
Brsk is offering residents the opportunity to experience gigabit-capable broadband free, for six months, with no obligation or commitment. This is part of their launch special to Burnley & Padiham residents who pre-order the service during the construction phase. After the six-month trial period, customers can choose one of the three packages on offer - 100mbps service at £33, 500mbps at £39 and 1 gigabit at £49.
Giorgio Iovino, Brsk founder and CEO, said:
*“We’re excited to bring full fibre broadband to homes and businesses in Burnley & Padiham. We’re installing new fibre cables throughout these areas and bringing fibre all the way into the home. Our network will provide higher speeds and more reliable broadband to residents. We’re inviting residents in these areas to try our full fibre services against existing copper and wireless technologies, for free for 6 months. We’re confident that our full fibre network is the most future proof technology available as our demand for bandwidth continues to increase.
We’re confident they will want to keep using our faster and more reliable broadband service.”*
Brsk are committed to providing a free gigabit-capable connection to any school or centre of community importance, that their fibre passes. A strong and secure connection is crucial in supporting communities, and as a full-fibre broadband provider, brsk is the perfect fit. With consistent speeds and unlimited data, it’s the kind of technology you can depend on, which is exactly what you need for education and keeping your community connected. All schools and qualifying community centres within their coverage area will receive gigabit broadband for free.
Councillor Afrasiab Anwar, Leader of Burnley Council, said:
“I am pleased to see that Brsk will be utilising existing OpenReach infrastructure in bringing forward full-fibre to Burnley and I particularly welcome their commitment to providing free gigabit fibre broadband to all schools and qualifying community centres within their coverage area”.
They are letting households know if the works will affect their streets by letterbox drop. The company is also engaging with the local community and councillors to inform residents about the project, which can be accessed through the locations page on their website.
In recent rollout areas, customers are already enjoying the benefits of full fibre broadband to their homes. “Installation was very professional, completed by a really nice crew. To date, service has been 100%, good and consistent speeds” said one via Trustpilot. Another commented “An excellent service! I now have broadband speeds I only dreamed of. A service I would highly recommend.”
Brsk will be installing new fibre cables throughout the area using existing poles and underground ducts, which means disruption to the community will be kept to a minimum. Once the fibre cables are installed into the area, residents who want to connect to a broadband service can place an order for fibre cable to be installed from the street into their home.
Full fibre uses fibre-optic cables to deliver broadband services to premises (Fibre to the Premises, FTTP), providing faster speeds and more reliable service than copper-based networks (Fibre to the Cabinet, FTTC). FTTP Networks like these boost local economies by providing jobs, making local property more saleable and enabling a much more attractive base for businesses and home workers alike.
Brsk will soon be adding a voice phone service (which uses your internet connection to make calls, like calls on WhatsApp or FaceTime). This means you can keep your current landline number and move away from your old and unreliable copper line.
Customers who want to try out the ultrafast broadband service for free for six months can check their coverage at https://www.brsk.co.uk and either sign up as part of the launch special, or register their interest for updates for the rollout to their area.
