West Yorkshire is growing!
We're celebrating a number of successes with our West Yorkshire rollout. Work is underway to expand our full fibre network coverage to new areas in the region that are currently limited to older copper technology.
Elland and Brighouse are set to benefit from the network, which will enable 12,000 and 20,000 homes respectively, to access future-proof full fibre broadband - a much needed upgrade from the current copper-based infrastructure.
This rollout marks a new era for high-speed internet connectivity in the region, ensuring these areas aren’t left behind in the digital divide, empowering residents and businesses with improved upload and download speeds, reliability and most importantly, more broadband choice.
Our network was launched in Cottingley, West Yorkshire, in 2021 and has seen rapid expansion ever since. In addition to increasing full fibre coverage in the region, we recently celebrated connecting 10,000 customers in the Bradford region. Currently, the network covers North, West and South Bradford, where 75,000 homes and businesses can now choose to take up a full fibre broadband service right now, with 35,000 more in the pipeline to be connected by the end of 2024.
The latest areas in Bradford to be connected to full fibre include Wibsey Slack, Bankfoot South, Little Horton South, Upper Wyke, Wyke Common, Wibsey Slack. Hove Edge is the first area in Brighouse to be rolled out, with additional areas soon to follow.
Speaking of the roll out, brsk Regional Head for West Yorkshire, Darryl Nieuwenhuizen said, “Strong digital connectivity has become fundamental to our daily lives and we are proud to serve the community’s connectivity needs for decades to come. As a challenger broadband provider, we are also proud to provide customers with more choice and better service to customers who have been taken advantage of, for far too long.”
